INTRODUCTION TO AVIATION RADIO - PART 1

MOBILE APPS

Introduction to Aviation Listening need not be expensive.

With just about everyone owning a mobile phone, various apps make it easier to open the world of listening to Aviation, its just like sitting in the Co-Pilots seat.

LIVEATC (Costs about $6) (Android & Apple)

Possibly the best app available for listening to live streamed Airports in NSW

NSW Airports include =

Bankstown (Tower, ATIS)

Camden (Tower / CTAF)

Canberra International (Approach, Departure, Centre, ATIS, Ground, Tower)

Griffith (AWIS, CTAF)

Nowra Military Airport (Ground, CTAF, Approach, Centre)

Sydney International (Approach, Departure, Tower, ATC Sat Feed)

I use and recommend this App... Rating 10/10.

PLANE FINDER - Live Flight Tracker (Pinkfroot Limited)
Various apps inc lite versions, paid versions & AR versions available.

I'm using a paid version, runs excellent, very detailed & accurate.
Alot of helicopters don't seem to have photos. (i just clicked on 4 helicopters in my area, none have photos)
Does get the odd advertisement now and then.
In regards to adds, when i pay for an app ($5.99 - $7.99) i don't expect to see adds.

All up, its pretty good - rated 9-10
